The Kimple Fishing Cup is a sport fishing competition organized by barque-de-Fishing.news, reserved for Kimple boats and designed for carnivore enthusiasts. It takes place over two days at Lac de Pareloup, Aveyron, with teams of two anglers, lure fishing and a 100% no-kill format.
Test format
The event is structured into two categories: one with live technology and one without, to ensure fair competition between crews. Ranking is based on the cumulative length of fish validated by official stewards.
A total of 176 fish were counted, with a perfectly balanced split between the two formats: 88 live and 88 non-live catches. A rare balance, which underlines the interest and relevance of this dual format.

Cumulative size reached 101.22 meters, for an average of 57.50 cm per fish retained in the quotas. Competitors presented 66 pike, 89 zander, 13 perch and 8 catfish, testifying to the diversity and richness of the lake.
In terms of performance, several outstanding fish stand out:
The largest pike measures 111 cm non-live (with also 105 cm and 100 cm specimens), while the biggest live pike reaches 100 cm. Among pike-perch, the best fish peak at 83 cm live and 76 cm non-live. Perch reach 38 cm live and 39 cm non-live respectively. Catfish come out on top with 121 cm live and an impressive 138 cm non-live.

This first edition confirms the potential of this live and non-live format, and opens up promising prospects for the future.
A huge thank you to all the competitors for their commitment and spirit, to our partners for their confidence, and to all the volunteers without whom nothing would be possible.
See you soon for the rest of the KFC adventure.
