Created in 2013 by the Sailtica association, the event evolved in 2016 under the name Festi'Mer, while retaining its DNA: sharing, good humor and accessibility.
An innovative competition right from the start
The first edition was held in Pornichet on August 31 and September 1. It brought together teams of three anglers, by boat or kayak. The originality of the concept was based on a novel system of arbitration: the steward, the third member of each team, was drawn at random and boarded another boat. He measured catches while continuing to fish for his team.
This system enabled live recording of catches, which were immediately returned to the water, thus promoting responsible fishing. It also facilitated exchanges between teams, allowing boats to get closer together in a friendly atmosphere.

Constantly evolving
2019: creation of two separate classifications (boats and kayaks)
2020: the event moves to La Turballe
2023: switch to an "open boat" format with teams of 2 or 3 anglers and fish-measuring by steward boats
Today, Sailtica Fishing has established itself as an accessible, dynamic competition focused on the pleasure of fishing.
