Fish little-frequented areas
Nearby harbours are busy places where many boats sail. To find quieter areas, move away from them: you'll need to travel a few miles for this.

Those who know the Cotentin region will be well aware of the fact that the Pointe de la Hague and its strong currents limit nautical activities and ensure an appreciable degree of tranquillity. It was therefore natural that I should turn to this sector to try and find bars during the summer season.
Choosing the right lures
It's nothing new: the choice of lure is crucial, and all the more so at a time when fish are, admittedly, more difficult than usual.
As always, you have to take into account the size and type of prey the sea bass hunt. At the moment, many sprats of around ten centimetres are present in the fishing area. So I'm going to select small 10 cm shads, which I'll lead between 12 and 25 g depending on the fishing depth and the strength of the current.

When light conditions are important and the sun is out, glitter lures clearly stand out from the crowd. It's a choice not to be overlooked.
A helping hand from the birds
I can't stress this enough: birds are our best allies. Whether you're fishing for tuna or sea bass, they help you locate areas where fish are active and close to the surface.

In these conditions, the fish are generally in the open water, close to the surface. The fishing technique must then be adapted, either with surface lures or swimming fish, or with soft lures brought in very quickly, letting them drop to a maximum of 1 to 2 metres.
Often, fish are calibrated to a similar size, and it can be difficult to nab a specimen that stands out from the crowd.

To increase your chances, continue drifting downstream of the hunt: the most beautiful fish may be slightly offset.
