The first round of the Black Bass League 2025 in France, which serves as the opening round of the French carnivorous fishing championship (black bass boat category, duo), took place in Marans (Nouvelle-Aquitaine) on September 6 and 7, 2025.

Organized by the FFPS Carnassier, this innovative competition brings together the best French teams using modern lure fishing techniques, on courses selected for their rich black-bass populations. The events are no-kill and are contested in pairs on specially equipped boats, in a sporting, friendly and highly technical spirit.

The format provides for several rounds throughout the season, each playing an important role in the overall ranking of the French Black Bass Boat Championship. The Marans round was renowned for its technicality, the diversity of its stations and its capricious black bass requiring rigor and adaptation.

A high level

The first round of the Black Bass League in Marans (September 6-7, 2025) confirmed the high standard of the French black-bass boating scene. The exemplary welcome provided by the APPMA Marandaise was particularly appreciated by all participants, thanks to its professionalism and involvement in the smooth running of the competition.

Despite difficult weather conditions, marked by heat and plenty of sunshine on Saturday, all the teams managed to come out on top. No team was left empty-handed, a testament to the high fishing quality of the Marans course and the successful regulation of local fish management.

Several teams stood out for their astute strategic choices and remarkable technical adaptation in the face of sometimes difficult fish: taking into account light conditions, variations in navigation, and selection of lures adapted to fishing pressure.
