Kraber 160
The Kraber 160 is a popper designed for strong fishing, with its solid internal frame.

It doesn't come with internal mass transfer, but even without this option, it casts really well, at a good distance, thanks to its slender shape and well-placed internal weight. It even rivals lures with this technology, so in that respect it's excellent.

It comes in 5 colors, all more or less the same, with no real major differences. They feature a silver base, with touches of pink and/or blue, for use in the sea.
The main difference lies in the color of the mouth, which is available in red or green.

Finally, the lure is sold without hooks, but broken rings are supplied. All that remains is to add hooks to make it operational, in 5/0 if you opt for singles, or in 3/0 or 4/0 in the case of trebles.

Use
Its intermediate size of 16 centimetres and sturdiness enable it to tackle a wide range of species. These include sea bass, striped bass, liche, roosterfish and tarpon. It comes to life effortlessly and produces a spray of water with every pull.

In ideal weather conditions, with no current or wind, you can inflict all possible animations, even sudden ones, to force it to emit a "Pop". If there's wind, current or waves - conditions which they accept well - simply pull them gently, so that they eject a spray of water forward. It holds well on the surface and doesn't take off at the slightest wave.

My opinion
The Kraber 160 is a great discovery. It's an easy-to-use popper that handles wind and waves well, making it usable in many conditions, unlike many similar lures. What's more, it casts well, so it's definitely a lure I'd recommend without hesitation. Finally, its price of ?41 remains affordable and is consistent with the lure's quality and durability.
