Test / Axopar 29 CCX, a highly versatile deck layout that adapts to your needs

You can adat the 299 ccx to fit your needs

In this second section, we take a closer look at the Axopar 29 CCX's highly versatile deck layout, which, thanks to a number of clever features, can be transformed into a fishing boat, a ski boat or a cruising boat to suit your every whim.

The 29 CCX has been designed to be highly versatile, and this is reflected in the deck layout. The version presented at the Cannes boat show was clearly designed for family use. In concrete terms, this means that you can go fishing, water-skiing or tow a buoy, or take advantage of the large aft platforms for swimming. Thanks to the modularity of the aft space, the boat can also be transformed into a beautiful picnic area and, icing on the cake, the small cabin can even allow you to spend the night on board.

Several configurations available

On the bow, the Axopar 29 CCX features a modular relaxation area with a U-shaped saloon that can be transformed into a picnic area. There's plenty of storage space under the seats, and a central cushion can be used to create a solarium for two.

Modularity is also a feature at the rear, where the saloon can seat six people. With a few simple manipulations, the whole can be transformed into a large solarium, while the back of the rear bench seat can be reversed for rear-facing seating. We also appreciate the backrests of the side seats, although the foam could be firmer.

What's more, if this modularity isn't enough for you, you can also opt for one of the alternative layouts offered by the shipyard, i.e. a large fixed bench seat, a kitchen unit, a bench seat with its back to the road or a different sunbathing area. Fishermen can also opt for a version with a less crowded aft cockpit, which seems to make more sense.

Another positive aspect of this layout is the cockpit's abundance of storage space, often ingenious, such as the floor lockers, the storage compartments or the cooler in the bulwarks with integrated cutting board, or the sink and fridge hidden under the pilot seat. Last but not least, you can add a number of accessories, such as a barbecue on the rear balcony, for a successful weekend on the water.

A real cabin to spend the night

The only drawback is that, while this modularity is undeniably a plus, it also somewhat impedes on-board circulation, as the cockpit remains very cluttered.

Last but not least, the console houses a real cabin capable of sleeping two adults in decent comfort. Access is relatively easy thanks to a folding staircase, there's space for a marine toilet and, hidden behind a door above the headboard, a real sink that lowers when needed.

Already full of surprises, the Axopar is also rather well equipped in the standard version, with numerous options to personalize your boat to the full.
