The second edition of the Mercury Fishing Cup (MFC) came to a close after two days of competition on the magnificent Lac de Vassivière. Armand Michaud and William Courte took over from Jean-Baptiste Morel and Nicolas Noël, winning this edition held on October 19 and 20, 2024.

102 boats on 1000 hectares

The Mercury Fishing Cup, the French Championship for lure fishing for carnivorous fish in boats, is organized by the FFPS Carnassier under the aegis of the Fédération Française des Pêches Sportives, in partnership with Mercury Marine France. The event attracted no fewer than 102 boats to the 1,000-hectare Lac de Vassivière, compared with 53 in 2023.

An unexpected podium

While we expected to see local anglers and regulars of the Limousin lake on the podium, in the end it was anglers from Aveyron, the Paris region and Franche-Comté who took first place in the MFC II, including two very talented and technical youngsters aged 20 and 21.
