Galaxy Kayaks renews its range
As 2023 draws to a close, Galaxy Kayaks is renewing its entire range of small and large kayaks. Established in France since 2014, the Galaxy Kayaks brand continues to develop its models to meet the expectations of beginners and experienced anglers alike. Some models are new to the catalog, such as the Wildcat for example, already presented this summer. Others are evolutions of tried-and-tested models. Such is the case of the Cruz Ultra presented today. It replaces the Cruz Angler Pro and receives a number of fishing-oriented upgrades.

Focus on Cruz Ultra
Its dimensions make it a kayak dedicated to freshwater fishing or to the 300-meter coastal strip for the sea.
- Length: 292 cm
- Width: 83.5 cm
- Height: 35.6 cm
- Weight: 22 kg
- Max. loaded weight: 140 kg
- Recommended height: 1.40 m to 2.05 m
It's a rotomolded kayak in 5 mm-thick LDPE polyethylene, with all screws and bolts installed in marine-grade stainless steel. It is 9 cm larger than the previous version, but retains the same hull design, giving it great stability. For greater maneuverability, an external rudder has been added, controlled by pedals.

A kayak model for fishing
When it comes to fishing equipment, this is the ultimate luxury for a kayak in this class. Two front rails allow you to add all kinds of equipment, including rod holders (2 starports and 1 Railblaza rod holder supplied as standard), camera pole, depth sounder... It also features two fixed rod holders. Copper inserts are hot-molded into the hull to accommodate additional Railblaza receivers.
There's a large central rectangular storage hatch for lure boxes, for example. A new large front hatch has also been added, making it easy to open, even on the water, with the locking catch in front of the user.

A high seat on top, for fishing comfort and a fuller view. The HV (high visibility) system has been retained. This model comes standard with 3 lifelines and 3 rear bungee cords in different colors (orange, white and black). It also features a sounding well and comes with a paddle as standard. The Cruz Ultra is CE-approved and comes with a 3-year manufacturer's warranty on the hull.
For color, you can choose between 10 different colors: jungle camouflage, snow, navy, solid black or orange, paradise blue or graphite gray, and 3 new colors: mint, mars and sage. It retails for 699 euros (list price), with delivery to Geodis relay points costing between 44 and 64 euros, depending on geographic zone.

Opinions
A small fishing kayak for beginners and experienced anglers alike. Superbly equipped, easy to handle and steer thanks to its rudder. Easy access to the front hatch on the water is a plus. Excellent value for money. The March color is really superb.
