BEC664XXH
The term Expedition Series characterizes a series of four rods within the Voyage range from the Bone brand. This differentiation shows that we're dealing with rods that are a little more upmarket, and developed for a specific use.

The Expedition Series version features embroidered lettering, rather than silk-screen printing on the regular version.

Of course, we expect more than just a nice cover. The rod also benefits from improvements, such as a reel seat with a different clamping ring, more advanced carbon and a thicker varnish layer, which increases shock resistance.

The rod can be disassembled into four pieces, and as always with Bone, adjustments are precise and undetectable, the rod action perfect and linear.

The aesthetics of the BEC664XXH follow the same codes as most of the brand's rods. It is black with handles in a camouflage based on different shades of grey.

It's light and slim, and you'd think you had a simple MH in your hand, but that's not the case, as its power rating is 10-90 grams. However, I would requalify this value of 10-80 grams to be able to use it at 100% of its capacity. Having tested it with a 90-gram lure, it's possible to cast it, but more gently, from under the rod.
The rod is really strong and should be used with braid up to PE 4, i.e. around 60 lbs. As a result, it's ideal for fishing with small lures while using strong lines to fish crowded areas. It's not called a papuan bass for nothing!
Use
The action of this rod is fast, but it's still quite supple at the tip, which makes it very pleasant to use and precise when casting. It's at ease on all lures requiring fast action, where the rod's movements need to be transcribed as quickly as possible, such as pike jerkbaits, surface sticks, poppers and propbaits.
So it's ideal for pike, black bass, peacock bass, snakehead and, of course, papuan bass, after which it's named!

A casting reel in size 150 or 200 provides the perfect balance. A 30 to 80 lb braid, depending on the desired use, is adequate for use with this rod.

A serious guarantee
Finally, Way of Fishing offers a two-year legal warranty. Once this date has passed, should an accident occur, it is possible to order a new rod at a cost of about a quarter of the rod's price, which is super attractive in terms of longevity.
What's more, we can count on the reliability and efficiency of the Bone brand to continue producing SAV strands for a long time to come.
My opinion
Bone has done it again with this rod. The Voyage versions are already fabulous rods, but with this Expedition Series, Bone manages to do even better, at least for the BEC664XXH I have in my hand.
The rod is very light, well-balanced, tactile, the hands are perfectly positioned and above all: it's a four-piece! As proof, it's well on the way to becoming my favorite rod, ahead of my 704 XXH, which has topped my ranking for the last five years.
