I have tested... / Bass fishing with the FIIISH Crazy Paddle Tail 180 mm

This lure has been available on the market for a few months now. It was time for me to tell you about its effectiveness on bass in particular. I was able to test it at the end of the 2022 season when bass fishing was still going on.

A size that selects

The arrival of this lure in 180 mm makes it possible to prospect new sectors, deeper and more exposed to the current that it was impossible to fish with the previous sizes. New horizons are opening up for fishermen.

You will be able to associate the C razy S and E el in 35, 45 and 55 grams. This covers a maximum number of situations, whether vertical, traction or linear. These heads are the same ones you associate on the Crazy Sand Eel 180 mm . Two lures and only one model of lead head is an advantage.

Here two Crazy Paddle Tail 180 mounted on lead heads in 35 and 55 grams.

The other advantage is that the lure is now 180 mm long, i.e. 3 cm longer than its predecessor little brother in 150 mm . This provides a larger bite to the fish and I have seen a selection from the top of the size of fish caught with the Crazy Paddle Tail 180 mm.

A small important precision, the tests of this lure were carried out in November 2022 when the fishing period of the sea bass was still current. It is unthinkable to go in this season to tease our friends labrax who are in the middle of their breeding season. But in April, we will go back to them.

The linear, a very effective animation

His large paddle moves a lot of water. I obtained very good results in vertical with the technique of the elevator. It consists in a linear recovery of the lure in the water column. The speed of recovery varies. The important thing in this technique is to make a "stop" and then go back.

It is also possible to use it as a retrieve. I like this technique in areas with strong currents, when the fish is active and it is difficult to hold the bottom even with 55 gram heads.

Cast the lure, let it drop, then make a retrieve like you would when fishing with an elevator except that here you are in a horizontal plane, not a vertical one.

A resistant lure

One of the advantages of this lure is its resistance to various fish attacks. I was able to string more than fifteen fish without ever tearing it apart. Sea bass, pollack, sea breamâeuros¦ Everyone tasted it and yet the lure remained in very good condition.

Here is the state of the lure after the release and more than fifteen fish bitten.

Proof here that a superb job has been done by the teams of FIIISH to combine flexibility and resistance.

What more to expect ?

This lure will be a must for the 2023 season. The panel of colors is perfect and allows to satisfy all the users.

Ce coloris rose aura un succès auprès des lieus jaunes. Une tête plombée plus lourde encore permettrait de l'employer sur les épaves profondes.
This pink color will be a success with yellow pike. An even heavier lead head would allow it to be used on deep wrecks.

As we are always looking for advances, a heavier lead head, allowing to use it on deep wrecks for example, would be a good surprise and who knows, a model in 220 mm ?
