Hello, I am Gilles Fonseca, founder of the free Captain Fisher application .
Captain Fisher, what is it?

It is a free application for sharing places on a fishing boat, renting a boat equipped and renting a fishing kayak. To put it simply, it's a kind of BLA BLA CAR, carpooling for boats. This application will allow to put in relation the fishermen who have a boat, those who don't have one, as well as the underwater hunters.
In addition to the security and financial aspects, it is above all the sharing that is the driving force of this application. To meet other enthusiasts and to allow owners not to sail alone anymore. Today, the Captain Fisher community has grown. The application was launched in September 2019. And after two years of Covid, it already has more than 400 boats across the globe. France, Corsica, Mayotte, Reunion Island, Mauritius, Rodrigues Island and the French West Indies. Martinique, Guadeloupe and Guyana. New Caledonia, French Polynesia (Tahiti, Moorea, Tahaa and Huahiné). Canada, too, already has 6 boats (in 4 different lakes). Fishermen or vacationers can easily find boats near their home, or directly on their vacation spot.
How was the idea of Captain Fisher born?

For years, while traveling in many countries, I often found myself on great spots along the sea, without knowing anyone to tell me where to fish. Often present at the exit of ports or dykes, I saw fishing boats passing by, telling me that I would join them. That's when the concept was born in my head. 6 years later, the application was born. Holder of a federal diploma of underwater hunting instructor and a diploma of snorkeling instructor passed on the island of Reunion, I have several fishing trips to my credit (Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Reunion Island, Mayotte, Mexico, Corsica to name a few), as well as some unapproved records such as a 35.5 kg Liche ami, a 11.4 kg perlamide, a 14.2 kg denti¦
More than 40 years of fishing on and under the water. Encounters, friendships and above all good times of sharing. Laughter, thousands of memories with my many fishing partners, some of whom have become true friends. More than 40 years with only one common point: the passion of fishing. These are all elements that led me to create the Captain Fisher mobile application, which aims to bring together fishermen around the world.
Sea fishing trip & co-baiting

It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or an expert fisherman, the feeling is the same when your reel starts to sing. Your heart races and your only goal is to get the fish into the net so you can capture the moment and release it if you don't eat it, or if it's undersized. Captain Fisher represents a relay, the missing link between the fishing world and specialized boating. A new way of fishing based on sharing. No more going out alone or depriving yourself of going out on the water because you've exceeded your fuel budget.
Captain Fisher is an emerging community. In addition to sharing your expenses for the day's outing, you'll share good times with other enthusiasts like you. The adventure starts with a click: download the free Captain Fisher mobile application and follow us on social networks, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Don't hesitate to share with others! Because behind this click is your future fishing partner, who may become a friend.

Captain Fisher is above all a sharing of emotions and sensations.
The essence of this application, FRIENDS, FISH & BOAT.
The ecological and carbon impact
We often see in the same port, several boats going out to sea, with only one person on board. In the bay of Fréjus and St Raphaà "l, in the Var, we were not less than 18 boats, and more than half of them, with only one fisherman on board. I let you imagine the number of bays in France and on the Mediterranean contour, as well as the overseas departments such as Guadeloupe, Martinique, Reunion Island¦ The report is alarming.
During the tuna and bonito hunting season, it is daily that all these boats leave, engines at full throttle, on hunts. Because, as we know well, the one who will catch the fish, will be the first one who will throw his lure in the ball of anchovies or sardines that are devoured by bonito, pelamid or tuna. Who catches the fish? Ãa gives sometimes place to picturesque scenesâeuros¦

If we were to calculate the consumption of all these boats at a given moment, on all the places of France and on all the coasts of the Mediterranean. On the overseas departments, Réunion, Mayotte and the French West Indies, French Polynesia, and even Canada, we would be well surprisedâeuros¦
I invite you to visit the Facebook page of Captain Fisher. You can discover my participation in actions to clean up the seabed and the coasts of Var (from St Aygulf to Agaysâeuros¦), with the association "Mes Rivages Propres", of which I am part as MSN and co-organizer. To give you an example among others: the World Ocean Day, which took place on June 8, 2020. The event, which started with two associations, ended up with more than 40 different ones, represented by more than 3,000 volunteers. In only 3 hours, we have all together collected more than 12 tons of waste on the coasts and seabed, with the participation of a team of scuba divers and snorkelers from the snorkeling association of St Raphaà "l/Estérel BLUE WATER.

Following this incredible event, we obtained the UNESCO logo, proof of their recognition. 3 other actions have taken place since, as well as a rescue of nocturnal fish in July, after my seasonal work at 1:30 am, thanks to the alert given by a friend, who became one of the ambassadors of Captain Fisher. The spirit of Captain Fisher is also dedicated to the preservation of species and marine resources. As I explain on the website, if you decide to take a fish that is caught under the legal size, you are ultimately taking thousands of fish. Because your catch will not have had the time to reproduce, and thus to play its essential role in the ecosystem. By releasing this fish, millions of others can be born and reproduce in their turn.

I hear too often that it is not a fish that will change muchâeuros¦ But on the contrary! We are millions of fishermen across France. If everyone makes this common sense gesture, we will be lucky enough to be able to fish again and again, and to have this feeling that makes our hearts vibrate when we hold a beautiful fish at the end of our rod.

The Captain Fisher application is also involved! We donate 1 euro per boat out, to the SNSM of each region. Thus, in addition to having a great time, the fisherman, by going out, also does a good deed! Do the math! If this person goes out 20 times on the application by sharing a place or renting his boat, it will be 20 euros that will be donated by the company Sas Fish & Friend (Captain Fisher).
On the site www.captain-fisher.fr, I provide the official form of donation to the SNSM. You will also find the link of the 240 division of the maritime affairs. In addition to the informative aspect, it is above all, the security side of having the mandatory rescue equipment, which can save lives.
