Specialized rods
Let's start with lure fishing, which occupies a large part of the new catalog . This year, Caperlan has chosen to develop rods for targeted fish. There are 5 WXM-500 Pike rods: four casting and one spinning, including a XXXH for big bait (100-250 g). The WXM-500 Percid for perch and zander are also 5 in number, all spinning with Fuji rings. A single-string model is also available.
Finally, there are four WXM-500s with more classic cork handles for trout anglers. No doubt the fish-specific WXM-900s will arrive in 2027 or 2028. Earlier production is discontinued, except for the bass special released last year.
And versatile rods
Twenty new WXM-100 and 500 models are available for all-rounders, whether freshwater or sea anglers. They are designed for beginners, occasional or even regular anglers. There are even two Travel rods for those who want to pack a rod in their suitcase. Prices range from 25 to 55 euros, except for the Travel (60 and 70 euros). All rod tips are available from our after-sales service. Stores are fully stocked at the start of the new year.
Guaranteed for 10 years!
Décathlon strikes hard with its first reel to come with a 10-year guarantee. The BXT-900 is designed for strong fishing (catfish and exo light) with its 10 kg drag and 586 g. In size 6000, it will be available in March at a price of 100 euros. The after-sales service will have all spare parts. Two other casting reels are available: the WXM-500 201 C (90 euros) and the WXM-100 151 C (55 euros).
Rogen in a summer bodysuit
The Rogen bass lure has a new version: the slimmer Rogen Slim, which will fish better on slower animations. Two sizes (7 and 9 inches) and six colors are available. Count 6 euros for a pack of two 7-inch lures and 7 euros each for the larger size. For very slow animation, we prefer the 8-inch Yubari Fatshad. Other lures make their appearance, but the real curiosity is a new range of leaded heads. The round ones have a matt black finish. They are not made of lead or zinc, but of bismuth, which also offers a beautiful resonance. The hooks have been upgraded (BKK). There will also be heads for vertical fishing and for darting.
There's no revolution in hard and metal lures, apart from a new size of Exofly Pop in 150 mm for tuna fishing. With two single hooks and six colors, it retails for 14 euros... A 4-segment swimbait is in the final stages of development and will arrive in 2027.
Jacket and waders
Caperlan brings out a pair of breathable 900 waders at 200 euros, which was a big expectation of anglers. The neoprene booties have been reworked at the seams and on the front, which used to deteriorate. The knees have been reinforced and the seams are no longer visible, making it easy to get over obstacles on your knees. The product can be easily converted from wader to pant mode by adjusting the upper part of the shoulder straps. Waders are available in 5 sizes from S to XXL. They can be combined with a 900 light jacket, which weighs 300g less than the old 900. The pockets have been placed at chest level. Waterproofing is still top-notch. It has been designed with the adventurer in mind (float, street, trout...). Price: 140 euros.
A little indiscretion: customizable waders in +60 sizes are being studied... You'll also find a whole range of classic and UV-resistant T-shirts, and a fully waterproof 900 luggage range with chest pack (70 euros), vest (70 euros), lumber bag (90 euros) and 20 or 30 L backpack (130 euros).
Yummy boilies
For carp, almost the entire range of baits has been revised. After two years' work, recipes have been improved with new flavors and an environmental dimension taken into account. Wellmix Instant has a low protein base (-10%) to avoid force-feeding the fish. Very effective for fast fishing with its rapid disintegration. Wellmix Plus have between 15 and 20% protein and are more 4x4, as good for baiting as for reeling. They come in 5 flavors: Monstercrab, Scopex, Hempseed Tiger, Strawbanana and Spicy Tuna.
Prices are unchanged: 5 to 9 euros for one-kg packets, and even less for larger packs. As with our boilies, we've reworked the baits used by spearfishermen. Recipes include natural flavors: carrot, cinnamon, curcumin, coriander...
Conviviality
The Social Bivvy is now available in XL and XXL sizes, with a floor area of almost 8 m2 for the largest. You'll only find them on the Décathlon website, not in stores. Wind-tunnel tests have shown resistance to continuous winds of 60 km/h or gusts of 100 km/h. However, prices are substantial: 350 and 450 euros, with ground mats and awning kit sold separately. Big-box stores allow anglers to get together in a convivial atmosphere! The Xtrem 900 detectors are also a great novelty (300 euros for the 3+1 set).
Other new products, particularly for spearfishing, are also available in the catalog, but it's 586 pages long and I can't list everything...
