I have tested... / Ima Kosuke 110 S: all the qualities you'd expect from a jerkbait minnow

The kosuke 110 is a jerkbait minnow with a small lip that's wider than it is long. The special shape of the lip means the lure doesn't dive deep or offer much resistance, so it stays below the surface.

With a constant retrieve speed, the lure has a pronounced rolling action. What's more, it's highly reactive to the slightest twitch, so energetic, jerky animation suits it perfectly, giving it a messy swimming action.

Being a sinking model, the lure will tend to sink at the slightest pause, and to rise close to the surface when reeled in. This makes it more effective for continuous animation, and less suitable for long pauses.

The Sasuke comes with good-quality trebles, which can be replaced by singles in size 1/0, depending on your preference, but this does not change its swimming characteristics.

It's silent, and the internal balls it contains come from the internal mass transfer system, which helps increase throwing distances, and are not intended to make noise.

As far as colors distributed in France are concerned, the choice is currently limited to 5. However, the X4637 and X4638 references represent an imitation sardine and mullet respectively, a successful Ima classic!

The Kosuke is a good complement to have when fishing on the surface with a classic stickbait. In some cases, going just below the surface makes all the difference, and the Kosuke meets this need.

With its 11-centimetre size, it can be used to fish for perch, pike, bass, asp or more exotic fish such as peacock bass and other species found in shallow areas.

In my opinion, the Kosuke is one of the best sub-surface jerkbait minnows around, so it's great news to see it arrive on our French shelves. It casts far and accurately, even in windy conditions. What's more, its swimming action can be very fluid or, on the contrary, lively, depending on the animation you use, which is very interesting when you want to alternate the two animations during fishing action, especially when triggering following fish.
