Women Predator Cup, an all-women fishing competition for a good cause

On Sunday October 6, 2024, the Carna section of the AAPPMA Le Pêcheur de Marne-la-Vallée is organizing its first women's individual lure fishing competition, which will take place on the Etang de la Boiserie in the commune of Magny-Le-Hongre.

Fighting cancer

To mark the annual Pink October campaign, AAPPMA Le Pêcheur de Marne-la-Vallée is organizing a lure fishing competition reserved for women. Pink October is an annual global communications campaign designed to raise awareness of breast cancer screening and raise funds for research. Involving women who are passionate about fishing is a wonderful initiative that we wanted to highlight.

The competition is open to women only. Minors may take part in the competition, but must present a written and signed authorization from their parents before the competition, unless the parents are present for the entire competition. Places are limited to 15 participants. The registration fee is ?10 per team (entry fee, fishing rights and drinks at the end of the competition). Please note that the entire registration fee will be donated to the association fighting cancer. For each entry, the AAPPMA will also donate ?10.

Fish control, quotas and measurement

All fish will be scored 1 point per millimeter. A multiplying factor of 1.5 will be applied for any pike over 40 cm, a multiplying factor of 2 will be applied for any zander over 40 cm and for any perch over 20 cm.

The fish is measured using a scale supplied by the association (to be returned at the end of the competition). For the fish to be validated, it must be photographed on the scale with its head to the left and belly down. The fish must be measured to the nearest half centimetre, rounded down to the nearest centimetre.

  • Mandatory briefing at 12:45 p.m
  • Round starts from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m
