Hello Rémi, can you introduce yourself?
My name is Rémi Seigler, 40 years old, newly married. I've been with Westin since 2020. I started out as a sales rep, then moved into a marketing development role in January.
Can you tell us about your fishing career?
I started out with the family, parents and grandparents, on the rivers of the Cote d'Or. We fished for everything from fried fish to predators using traditional methods. Then I turned to the best school of all, match fishing. I fished competitively until I was 18. Then came my period of battery carp fishing. At the same time, I still fished a little pike-perch with my father, and the opening of the trout season was a real event. Then came my passion for lure fishing, which still drives me today. But I still love all kinds of fishing.

What exactly is your job?
So it's quite recent. Today, my job revolves around communication. I use photography, but also video for Westin product presentations. I work on communication plans, I shoot fishing shows, I take part in open houses in the stores. And finally, I'm involved in product development.
What are the advantages of being a fisherman?
Well, that gives me time to fish. It's part of the job, you have to fish to stay in the game. You have to meet people at the water's edge and be in touch with what's going on in the field.
What are the downsides?
I spend a lot of time away from home, a lot of time on the road. Fortunately, I'm lucky enough to work with my wife, which helps.

How did you get into this position?
I spent 4 years as a sales representative for the Westin brand. I was able to do this thanks to my network of acquaintances following the Covid crisis, which had a major impact on my guiding business. In recent years, there have been a lot of changes with new marketing tools: videos, social networks... I had a bit of experience in this field, and the sales manager offered me this job change.
Why this brand?
It's a brand I've always loved. It evokes great names in fishing: Luc Coppens, Jackie Farona, Dietmar Isaiasch...
What's your favourite fishing technique?
Too complicated to choose just one. I make an effort and choose just two: vertical pike-perch and hard-bait pike.
What's your favourite product?
I'm going to say the 12 cm Shad teez. A lure that potentially catches all types of predator everywhere.
Can you give us your 3 favorite new products?
- The Swim Tail is a derivative of the original swim

- The return of the W8 range of top-of-the-range rods

- The Ready to fish soft lure range

Any surprises in store for the rest of the season?
Oh yes, there will be, but I can't reveal anything just yet.
Thank you Rémi for your time. I wish you all the best for your new assignments at Westin and hope to see you soon at the water's edge.
