I have tested... / The Maliera 68S from Trefle Création, new and already a success!

Hiroshi Takahashi's Trefle Création brand, distributed by Flashmer, is constantly introducing new series of innovative and atypical bass fishing lures to the French market. After the Mirage and the Rafale, it's now the turn of the Maliera to appear on the shelves of fishing stores and, above all, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea in search of predators that have become increasingly difficult to catch with conventional lures. Let's take a look at this novelty!

The vibration family

The Maliera is a lure from the vibration family, also known as a lipless lure because, unlike most hard lures, it has no lip.

The lure is attached on its back, giving it a head-down position when retrieved and constant water pressure on its back. This last characteristic induces the typical lipless swimming action, i.e. a light and fast wiggle around the longitudinal axis of the lure causing tight and fast vibrations.

Like most vibrations, the Maliera is perceptible in the rod, but is pleasant to handle and doesn't pull too much on the line, making it ideal for use with a versatile, lightweight rod.

Its features

The Maliera is a 68 mm leuure weighing 18 g, which makes it very dense and ensures very long casting distances, which is a considerable advantage when fishing at sea, especially from shore!

With no lip, you can exploit all depths, whether in 3 metres of water or on spots of 10 metres or more when bass are active between two waters.

In addition, the Maliera has a metal rod on the front tip which acts as a shield when it comes into contact with obstacles. Not only does this protect your lure, but it also lifts sediment and multiplies the sounds that can arouse the curiosity of predators in the area.

Two special features

The Maliera has 2 distinctive features that set it apart from other lipless models:

  • The first is that it is totally silent, which is quite rare in this family of lures.
  • The second is that it can be twitched sideways like a jerkbait minnow. This feature breaks the monotony of animations and triggers the attack of following fish.

A wide range of colors

Hiroshi Takahashi's aim when developing a lure is to offer anglers a truly innovative and technical solution for luring predators, especially suzuki, the Asian neighbor of the sea bass we know here. But it also pays particular attention to developing a variety of colors to suit all situations. The Maliera is available in 8 different and complementary colors, ranging from the most imitative to the most enticing. These colors are suitable for sea fishing, of course, but are also ideal for freshwater.

An affordable price

Following in the footsteps of previous lures and in keeping with Flashmer's distributor policy, the Maliera is now available on store shelves at a particularly affordable price for a hard lure. In fact, you can buy it for just 16 euros.

Entertainment

Over the summer, I tested the Maliera several times on my boat trips in water depths ranging from 3 to 15 metres. Unsurprisingly well suited to mackerel and horse mackerel, it also proved very effective on sea bass.

I alternated two simple and complementary animations:

  • A fast linear action between the surface and 2-3 metres depth, punctuated by accelerations, pauses and sometimes twitching. This animation is designed for active fish in the water column and provokes sharp, brutal attacks.
  • The second is traction fishing, which allows you to fish deeper and find bass closer to the bottom. All you have to do is let the lure cross the water column for several seconds, alternating between more or less ample pulls and releases, with the banner semi-relaxed to give the lure more freedom. This second stage is when the lure is most likely to hit.
