Bluefin tuna fishing is the stuff of dreams for many anglers. This fish, one of the most powerful in the world, has been present along our coasts for several years now. The popularity of this fishery continues to grow.
Once reserved for a niche group of fishermen, today more and more people are eager to try their luck. Before you can set off on your adventure and touch one of these giants of the seas, there are a number of steps to take.

The rod: this fishery's main tool
There are several methods for fishing bluefin tuna, the main ones being baiting, live-fishing and trolling.
Lure fishing is undoubtedly the most exciting of all. It's done on the hunt when these fish decide to burst the surface. I'll let you imagine the excitement experienced by an angler at the sight of fish weighing between 80 and 250 kg bursting the surface of the water.

To take on such a giant, you need the right equipment.
For bluefin tuna lure fishing, a rod length of between 2.20 m and 2.40 m is required to obtain sufficient casting distance.
It should be strong enough to use PE 8 to 12 braid, i.e. between 100 and 150 lbs.
Personally, I opted for a bundle of Rodhouse rods, consisting of the RPK 78, La, Black Hole Cow Gen 2 two and the Black Hole Giant 7".
