Panoptix PS70 from Garmin, a new real-time deep-sea sensor

New Panoptix PS70 from Garmin

Garmin's new RapidReturn fishfinder is the first to provide live images down to 304 meters below the surface. An important advance for deep-sea fishing enthusiasts.

Unparalleled depths

Garmin has unveiled its Panoptix? PS70 fishfinder, the latest addition to the award-winning range of real-time fishfinders. Thanks to its RapidReturn? technology, the PS70 enables anglers to benefit from a real-time view down to 304 meters below the surface, reaching unparalleled depths never before explored. Currently the fastest live sensor on the market, the PS70 delivers smooth images, updating at a rate of at least 10 frames per second, 8 times faster than its competitors at equivalent depths.

Observe fish in real time, fish deep

Garmin's RapidReturn technology redefines the standard for real-time inshore fishfinders, enabling accurate detection at depths of up to 304 meters for both small baitfish and big fish. With 800 watts of power, the PS70 offers enhanced water penetration and four unique sounder modes to suit different fishing techniques:

  • LiveVü? Down, anglers can see small baitfish and big fish in real time up to 304 meters below the boat, while the 120-degree wide beam angle covers vast areas of water.
  • A traditional fishfinder that displays clear, sharp schools of fish with excellent target separation under the boat.
  • A triple-beam mode that scans left, right and under the boat, all presented in a traditional fishfinder view. By adjusting the angle of the beams, you can fine-tune the display of the three columns of data.
  • RealVü? 3D Historical, Historical scanning technology helps find fish and map the bottom as the boat moves. This display mode shows fish in 3D across the entire water column. The True Motion 3D function, meanwhile, tracks the boat's course.

The stainless steel PS70 through-hull transducer is also equipped with an image stabilizer that continuously adjusts the sounder beams to compensate for boat movement. So, even in difficult conditions, anglers will see a stable sounder image. The PS70 gives anglers the ability to survey the seabed quickly and accurately.

The now enhanced QuickDraw Contours? software can scan extended areas up to 300 meters below the surface. This makes it very easy to view and save maps with detailed isobaths in real time. What's more, this data can be shared with the QuickDraw community for integration into Garmin Navionics+ charts, or saved directly to your personal chartplotter for future use.
