With this new range, the manufacturer introduces a 3.5" color touchscreen - a first in this segment - integrated into a modern design with an edge-to-edge glass front panel. Compact and uncluttered, these VHFs fit easily on all types of craft, from pleasure boats to fully equipped fishing boats.
The top-of-the-range Signal VHF 400 model features an integrated Class B AIS transponder. This enables essential data (position, course, speed or vessel identification) to be transmitted in real time to nearby equipped vessels, reinforcing the safety and legibility of maritime traffic.
In terms of performance, Garmin has optimized audio quality with automatic squelch and adaptive noise reduction, ensuring clear communications even in difficult conditions. The VHF replay function allows you to record up to three minutes of exchanges on several channels simultaneously, so you don't miss any important information.
Class D DSC (Digital Selective Calling) functions make it easy to send distress messages with automatic transmission of essential data, while the remote microphone, with its powerful loudspeaker, guarantees excellent intelligibility, even when exposed to wind or engine noise.
Several functions
Designed to simplify installation, these VHFs combine several functions in a single system. The VHF 400 manages VHF, DSC and AIS communications via a single antenna, while integrating GPS and diagnostic tools. The system is compatible with 12 V and 24 V power supplies.
Garmin completes this ecosystem with the Signal RM 100 remote station, which lets you control the radio from a second location, such as a flybridge. Connected via the Garmin Marine Network, it also incorporates an intercom function and features the premium design of the range.
Integration is at the heart of the device, with extended compatibility with NMEA 2000, Garmin Marine Network and BlueNet networks. This means users can interface their VHF with their chartplotters, loudspeakers or onboard systems. Wi-Fi connectivity also enables MMSI configuration, updates and management via the ActiveCaptain application.
Available from June 1, 2026, the Garmin Signal VHF 400 and VHF 220 are priced at ?1,499.99 and ?999.99 respectively, while the RM 100 remote station is priced at ?599.99.
