What is a balance pole?
In the past, and sometimes still today, crayfish fishermen used a long forked stick carved from a branch to lift their scales. With the advent of new materials, there are now teleadjustable aluminium poles on the market, specially designed for crayfish anglers.
This pole or cane is used to lift your baskets without jerking, thus preventing crayfish from falling out of the scales just as you're about to lift your various scales.

The advantages of fishing for crayfish with a pole
Fishing with a pole has a number of significant advantages if you're looking for a certain yield.
A 3-metre aluminium pole allows you to place your crayfish scales in places that are far from the bank or not easily accessible. An undeniable asset for regularly frequented spots. As the pole can be remotely adjusted, it is easy to transport and can be used in crowded environments. A child can easily use a balance pole if he doesn't fish beyond about two metres. After that, the counterweight requires a certain amount of strength, especially if your scale is full of beautiful crayfish.

The use of such an accessory inevitably increases the success rate. Once you've got the hang of it, lifting and lowering baskets or scales becomes child's play. The fluidity of the movements is facilitated by the use of the pole, so your scales will be better deposited and all the trapped crayfish will end up in your bucket without any problem.
