1 - Translator
A translator quickly becomes indispensable when you don't speak the language of the country you are visiting. As far as I am concerned, I use Microsoft Translator, especially since it can be used offline! It is very important to test it in advance and to download the desired languages, because once offline it will be too late.

2 - Currency calculator
A calculator capable of giving the correspondence of a currency in another currency is a very useful tool. Some currencies are so different from the euro that it can be difficult to make a mental calculation. For example, 1 Colombian peso is equivalent to 0.00019 euros at the time of writing.

3 - Weather
Before leaving, when you know that you will not have access to the internet, it is interesting to make screenshots of the weather forecast for the week to come. This way, even if it is only a forecast, you can anticipate days of rain, storms or high winds.
4 - Tides
If your destination is sea fishing, you can download the tide tables to determine when to go to the water's edge.
5 - Various applications
In addition, there are several applications directly related to fishing. For example, Captain Fisher this application allows you to put fishermen in contact with local boat owners. This application can be very interesting if there are no guides on the chosen destination.

There are also messaging applications, such as Whatsapp, that make it easy to contact someone. Functions or applications that we use daily can also be useful abroad.
6 - Photos
Finally, if you don't have a camera, the camera function of some smartphones allows you to take quite good pictures.
