To tackle pike fishing without getting cut too often, you'll need to add a thick nylon or fluorocarbon leader to your leader. The latter should be short, to avoid losing discretion, but long enough to protect your leader from the pike's teeth.

As for the knot to connect the leader to the leader, the only knot that is both fast and strong is the the Albright knot . The latter is not very recommendable on braid, but is very strong on nylon to nylon or fluorocarbon to fluorocarbon. It's a simple loop on the leader that you trap with the leader. You can also burn the ends of the knot to prevent it from slipping and unravelling.
