If there is a time to go out and fish for striped bass from the shore, it is when there is wind! This one makes come in great quantity the striped bass in edge, of which the big ones, it is necessary to take advantage of it.

Choose the spot according to the wind

North, South, East, West... It doesn't matter, well almost. The right wind for striped bass fishing depends on the fishing area. What I mean by that is that you have to choose an area where there is a headwind, which will create movement and waves.
You must choose your fishing area according to the direction of the wind, and therefore, do not be afraid to travel for miles, to find the right conditions, especially on windy days. Indeed, if the wind is weak, fishing may be complicated everywhere, it is when the wind is strong that this observation applies.

Brown water

Finally, the wind pushes the fish to come to frequent the edges, where the water is the dirtiest, due to the sediments stirred up by the waves. This band of dirty water on the edge is a phenomenon that does not occur everywhere, because it depends on the nature of the bottom. But when you come across this one, you must fish for it without hesitation. The striped bass is a fish capable of finding its food in very low light conditions. It is also very active at night, that's why we will find it in this type of water.

It is necessary to remain attentive on all this portion of tinted water. What's obvious is that if you fish the farthest part from the shore, where the water is clear, there are no bites. But as soon as the lure enters the darker part, the bites start.

How to prospect?

To fish against the wind, you need to favor lures that cast well, to keep good casting distances, and lures that dive, to withstand the force of the waves. In these conditions, soft lures are the masters, and you just have to adjust the weight of the sinker heads to counter the conditions, and be able to fish correctly.

To come back on this third day, I explored during the rising tide an isolated beach, more wild. This first point, which also means less fishing pressure, added to the wind that day, was the perfect cocktail to hope for some nice fish.
I had less catches than the beach of the day before, where the water was clear, however, all the catches were much bigger, with some very massive fish. The big waves seem to bother the small bass, but it is the opposite effect on the big ones, so you should not miss this kind of conditions that you do not meet every day.
