The Ima Honey Trap 70S lure is a small sinking stick of only 7 centimeters, but it still weighs 14 grams. Its weight allows it to reach very good casting distances, which is not often the case for such a small lure.
Moreover, its corpulence gives it a good volume and does not pass unnoticed under water, which represents an ideal mouthful for a good number of carnivorous.
Without balls
One point that makes a good difference is the absence of noisemakers inside. Indeed, the noisy beads may not have the desired effect, and act as a repellent.
When fishing for bass, asp or perch, the lack of logs can be crucial, especially on large fish.
A good swim
In linear retrieve, the lure has a nice swimming action with a good rolling action, even in very fast retrieve. This is an interesting point, because when you want to retrieve very quickly, it is complicated to animate a lure at the same time. But in the case of the Honey Trap, it is possible. It is also easy to jerk this Honey Trap to give it a more erratic swim.
However, since the lure is sinking, it is not suitable for slow retrieves and long breaks. It is better to jerk it continuously, so it is a lure to use for fast fishing! Its density makes it evolve under the surface of the water and allows to trigger attacks when fish are not reactive to top water. At times, moving just 10 centimeters below the surface makes the difference and improves the quality of the bites.
For optimum comfort and use, I recommend using this lure with M power rods, from moderate action to moderate fast. Even if the lure does not offer any resistance during the retrieve, this type of rod is more comfortable for repeated casts and low rod animations.
Colors
Way of fishing currently distributes this lure under 6 references of natural colors. Very relevant colors for bass and clear water fishing, but this choice remains similar and limited.
I hope to see other colors coming to the catalog, to enhance this choice, like gold and white. To have more versatility and to be able to fish in troubled waters.
2 single hooks
Finally, the lure is rigged with two very good quality treble hooks. However, as it is a very easy lure for predators to gobble, I strongly recommend replacing these treble hooks with two single hooks in size number 2. The weight of the lure allows for this change without affecting its swimming ability.
A small lure to be reserved for big fish!
This small lure is interesting to look for big predators, when they are focused on small preys, as it is often the case with the asp or the bass.
The lure is very solid, both in its internal construction, which can cope with big fish, and in its color, which stands up over time. Its design and its weight allow it to face the current without stalling, which is something rare for such a small lure.
