The evolution of travel over the years
During the first 2 years, the potential of Extremadura was still unknown to us. So we went on a guided trip to French fishing camps operating in the area. The fishing was relatively good, but the idea of leaving by our own means, for a longer period and especially a less important budget was in our head.
Every season is different and our third year was the first of many self-guided, shore fishing expeditions. Thanks to a lot of research and time spent on the internet, many places unexplored by the guides from their boats will offer us incredible fishing days with results well beyond our expectations.

A significant fishing pressure
The choice to return to the same location every year is mainly motivated by the immense possibilities that this region offers. Any fisherman who can step out of his comfort zone will get great results. Some people prefer to be guided every year to the same spots, using the same fishing techniques and looking for the same fish.
However, it is true that the fishing pressure on the big lakes has changed the behavior of the fish, and especially strongly decreased the quantity and quality of the catches. Fishing has become more complicated and the results are not much more interesting than during a full day in France. That's why we go off the beaten track, looking for new areas and different fish.
New desires

Each new trip brings new ideas and the desire to explore. Discovering new places is my favorite thing about fishing, often accompanied by the use of new techniques.
Over the years, the fishing techniques we use have changed. The first years were totally occupied by fishing with lures from the shore, travelling dozens of kilometers along the shore every day. The discovery of the fishing of comizo barbs led us to also fish with flies, nymphs and dry fly fishing.
With many years of experience, we know every corner of the region to do something different every day. Recently, the discovery of the potential of the surrounding rivers has allowed us to take float tubes to Spain to go where no boat or fisherman can go. Thanks to the knowledge of the area that we have today, we can practice a large number of techniques, with better results every year.
