Lake Esparron
Lac d'Esparron is located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence département. Recently developed by the commune of Saint-Julien-le-Montagnier, it offers a comfortable and rewarding fishing experience for all levels of angler. Impounded in 1967, the lake was created by the construction of a dam on the Verdon River. It plays a crucial role in managing the region's water resources.

The lake covers an area of 328 hectares and has a storage capacity of 80 million cubic metres of water. Its maximum depth is 55 meters at the foot of the dam, with an average depth of 20 meters. The edges of the lake are quite steep, which means that the bottom descends rapidly. The lake is surrounded by picturesque scenery. The waters of the lake are crystal blue, making it possible to distinguish the bottom over several meters, which adds to the visual fishing experience.

Trophy pikes
The lake is particularly renowned for its trophy-sized pike, which dominate the fish population. Anglers have the opportunity to catch impressive specimens, making the fishing experience even more exciting. The lake is also home to a variety of fish species, including zander and perch, as well as white fish such as roach and carp.
Whether you prefer lures, flies or livebait, the lake offers opportunities for a variety of fishing techniques. Trolling is permitted on the lake, but requires the purchase of an additional stamp and the use of a logbook to record catches.

Navigation regulations
Boating with internal combustion engines is prohibited on Lac d'Esparron, as well as on the other Verdon lakes, including the famous Lac de Sainte-Croix. This measure aims to reduce noise and environmental pollution. The use of electric motors is authorized, offering a silent, environmentally-friendly alternative for anglers and pleasure boaters.
A boat launch is located on the Saint-Julien beach. This slipway is equipped with a parking area for trailers, facilitating access to the lake for boats.

Lac d'Esparron is a prime destination for recreational anglers, offering a combination of fish diversity, natural beauty and accessibility. Whether you're an experienced angler or a novice, this lake has something for everyone.
