Fishing trips: 5 steps to protect yourself from the sun and heat

In Europe, even if it can be hot for some time, we are not used to the heat that we find in some countries. It is thus advisable to put all the chances on its side to support these.

1 - Bathing

A very good solution to lower the body temperature is to soak yourself completely from time to time. If this is not possible, just filling your cap with water and putting it back on your head will help you cool down and better withstand the heat.

2 - Hydrate

Even though it may seem obvious, it is important to remember to stay hydrated with water. Don't wait until you feel thirsty and always drink.

3 - Wear appropriate clothing

Full-length clothing, which protects from head to toe, is essential to be protected from the sun at all times. This will be discussed in detail in a later article, including covering your hands and face.

Contre le soleil, la meilleure protection est de se couvrir entièrement.
The best protection against the sun is to cover yourself completely.

4 - Take breaks in the shade

Whether you are in the middle of the Amazon jungle or in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, you must be aware of your limits and not hesitate to take breaks in the shade. These breaks allow you to catch your breath, to hydrate and to lower your body temperature.

5 - Put on sun protection

Finally, wearing sunscreen remains an essential solution, especially if you don't want to cover yourself completely with clothes. Once again, this may seem obvious, but it is important to realize that not protecting yourself from the sun for 10 minutes in France does not have the same consequences as not protecting yourself for 10 minutes at the equator. For example, in the Amazon, from 8 o'clock in the morning, it is advisable to protect yourself from the sun, because it is already strong enough to inflict serious sunburns.

What is important in this article is not necessarily the solutions to put in place, because they are often known, but it is to take the lead and not to wait to be dehydrated or to have caught sunburns to act. So, as soon as you arrive in the country or at the water's edge, you must adopt the right reflexes to ensure you have a good stay.
