Deps, for its huge custom H2N-64R rod, has chosen a very simple look, with an all black rod, from the tip to the butt, except for the end of the butt which is in cork. The action of this huge custom H2N-64R is described as regular by the manufacturer, but after having used it, I would qualify this one as regular-fast, because the rod is quite stiff and you still have to load it heavily to see the tip bend.
It's a versatile rod in the lures you can use with it, but it's really at home with jerkbaits, big soft lures or surface lures like sticks and propbaits! With its overall length of 1.95 m, the rod is short, handy and lends itself well to low rod animations, even if you are not fishing from a boat.
The handle
The final part of the handle is made of a round pommel to give an extra handling to the cane. Personally, I am not a fan of this shape because it creates a pressure point on the forearm, which, in the long run, is not pleasant. Moreover, this type of termination is not adapted if you want to take the time to properly cock your cast to reach long distances.
It is therefore a rod designed to cast quickly at short distance, which corresponds to the style of fishing practiced by the Japanese, country of design of the rod.

My opinion
The huge custom H2N-64R from deps is a superb rod, very solid, well finished, designed to cast heavy lures quickly at short and medium distance. It's ideal for pike and black bass, and any other exotic fish weighing up to ten kilograms that you're looking for in crowded areas, such as peacock-bass, snack-head or papuan-bass.
However, it is necessary to be aware of its action and its particular handle before acquiring it, because they differ a little from what is commonly found on the European market and may require a short time of adaptation.
However, this design makes sense when you want to explore crowded areas quickly, giving you the ability to cast accurately and quickly. This is a great all-around rod, ideal for freshwater travel with its 3-piece construction.
