We continue the presentation of the various Japanese brands that will soon be distributed in France by ERM Pêche and we are now focusing on Zeake, the Japanese specialist in the design of Jigs.

Zeake is a young Japanese company, created in 2017 by Mr. Kiyoyuki Kondo and Mr. Yusuke Takagi, specialized in the design and manufacture of lures and already very well known for its work on the colors of its lures and in particular the very high level of detail of its ultra-realistic natural colors (sardine, mackerel, herring, mullet, horse mackerel, anchovy, etc).

Zeake jigs

Zeake's core business and strong point is the design of Jigs that can be used for both Shore Jigging (casting and retrieving from the shore) and Vertical Jigging. For this, the Japanese company can count on the expertise of Mr. Tomoaki Warashina, a great specialist in Shore Jigging.

Zeake offers 3 series of Jigs with different and complementary profiles to target all predatory marine fish, from bass to tuna, bonito or dentex. The S-BIT series has short and stocky profiles for slow animation and the R-SARDINE and G-SLASHER series have tapered profiles for faster and more efficient fishing of active fish. A short review of these different series.

S-BIT

The S-BIT has been designed for Shore Jigging, its asymmetrical body and its center of gravity shifted towards the back ensuring exceptional casting distances. Casting Jig with a wide and chunky profile, the S-BIT is a Slow Jig to be used on slow animations which will trigger fish with little activity. It is available in 7 different weights (6, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 and 60g) allowing uses ranging from rockfishing, for the smallest weights, to the heaviest approaches.

Note that to date, natural colors (sardine, mackerel, horse mackerel, allache, mullet) are only available on the 30 and 40g models.

R-SARDINE

Casting Jig with a longer profile than the S-BIT and corresponding to the size of a sardine, the R-SARDINE has been designed primarily for faster animations. It will therefore be used more on active fish. Like the S-BIT, the R-SARDINE is also available in 7 different weights from 6 to 60g, a range which allows to adapt to many fishing configurations.

G-SLASHER

Casting Jig with an even longer profile than the R-SARDINE, the G-SLASHER is very productive on fast animations close to the surface in order to make the predators go up, in particular to avoid the garfish.

Overall, the longer the profile of a Jig, the less resistance it will offer to the water and the faster you can fish with it, especially on the hunt, when the fish are active. Also, the long profile of a Jig is reminiscent of the profile of a fleeing fish. The G-SLASHER, like the two previous references, is available in 7 different weights from 6 to 60g and the natural colors are also only available in 30 and 40g.

Z-BIT

The Z-BIT, even if it is proposed in 20, 30 and 40g, represents the real "Finesse" Jig of Zeake since it is also available in 1, 2 and 3g, weights which predestine it to the Rockfishing allowing then to target the rock fishes as the old ones, the scorpion fishes, the sars but also the pelagic ones as the sea bass which come to nourish themselves in the rocks. The particularity of Z-BIT is that it is made of a zinc alloy, a less dense material than lead. This lower density associated with its rather flat profile gives it a gliding attitude on the descent phases.

Zeake also offers other lures, all very technical, including stickbaits made of very dense Shiraki wood such as the SJ Pencil but also jerkbaits minnows like the S-GRAVITY MINNOW 95 this is a very compact 9.5cm 28g lure with a through frame and rolling triple owners. An ideal lure for tuna fishing up to 35 kg in difficult conditions when the fish are focused on small forage fish. A fine lure for tuna fishing that will make the difference on Mediterranean fish, smaller than Atlantic tuna. It can also be used for sea bass fishing, from the shore, because of its density, and in boats.

Finally, the Zeake brand offers several references of terminal tackle and in particular several ranges of assist hooks mounted on Owner hooks compatible with its various ranges of jigs.
