From Japan to France
Like many of the lures we find on the French market, the Bullshooter 160 SS is a hard swimbait designed by black bass anglers in Japan. The Bullshooter 160 SS has a single central joint which gives it, as with all the swimbaits in this sub-category, a characteristic swimming action marked by swerves of varying width from right to left. A big hard swimbait to lure big bass from the land of the rising sun.
In France, this lure finds its audience mainly among pike fishermen who are keen on swimbaiting. Given its high price, this lure is mainly aimed at a category of anglers who are both passionate about fishing but also about equipment and history. With its price of 80 euros, the Bullshooter 160 SS does not necessarily target the average angler even if we can relativize the high price of swimbaits from Japan by the fact that it is rare to lose this type of lure unlike soft swimbaits, shad for example...

The Tiny Bullshooter, a 160 SS model Bullshooter
The Tiny Bullshooter is a smaller version of the famous Bullshooter 160 SS (Slow Sinking). The design, the quality, the armament, the level of finishing, the mechanical behavior, everything is strictly identical. The range of colors, each one more beautiful than the other, is a little less than that of the 160 (9 against 13) but is sufficient and we will retain the Lime Back color for the pike (which exists only for the Tiny Bullshooter) and the superb Pumpkin Seed for the Bass so much the appetite of the Largemouth for the sun perch is great!

Launching of the Tiny Bullshooter
Glidebaits are a family of lures that have the particularity of "suffering" from a certain inertia before they are put into action, the consequence of the small opening of their joint and/or their long shape, reserving them rather for large spaces.
The Tiny Bullshooter, because of its more open articulation (a little more than its big brother) than most glidebaits and its particularly stocky shape, is one of the few exceptions that proves the rule by observing almost no latency between its contact with the surface and its action.
The Tiny Bullshooter is a copy of its big brother except that its smaller size makes it even more responsive. If the Bullshooter 160 SS can be used to fish in small spaces, the Tiny can be used to fish in a handkerchief!
Also, the ratio size/volume of water moved is very interesting because the Tiny Bullshooter is very present under water (you can feel it in the rod) and moves a significant volume of water.

A potential of varied animations
The Bullshooter, regardless of size, supports a wide range of linear retrieve speeds, from slow to fast. The Bullshooter has a very nice and realistic S-shaped swimming pattern with a slight rolling on the direction changes. The linear animation is the most basic. You can enhance it with sharp accelerations and sudden stops during which you will see the lure turn around on itself.
The other possible animation allowing to fish almost on the spot and a jerky and dry animation on the reel helped by light twitchs with the rod tip to use the Bullshooter almost like a jerkbait.

Implementation
The Tiny Bullshooter is a livelier, more nervous lure that needs even less space than its predecessor to express itself. It can therefore be easily used for pike fishing in small biotopes or when fish are focused on small preys.
Also, the arrival of hard swimbaits models now allows the use of this category of lures on light equipment. A rod of MH power is ideal. A casting rod of this power and about 2m long represents for me the basic rod to cover a maximum of techniques for a "Light" approach to pike (Texas Rig, jerkbait Minnow, Spinnerbait up to 21g, Crankbait, etc). So, here is what you need to make your light pike fishing more enjoyable.

Council
I tend to use swimbaits in clear water. Why? Because they are lures that, if they move a lot of water, do not allow to fish all the layers of water. The fact that they are identifiable by the carnivorous both in a vibratory way but also visual is particularly important. An active fish will not hesitate to come up from the depths to look for a swimbait that is moving in the upper water layer (between 0 and 1.50 m). Afterwards, it is always possible to add a weight (lead-clip) to make it move deeper.
In summary
The Tiny Bullshooter is a swimbait to be taken out at the beginning of the season when the fish have moved up in the water layer, the water temperature is rising, and have returned to the edges in search of spring prey, whether it is birds, amphibians and of course white fish in full reproduction!
