Find new fishing spots with Google maps
How about a little fishing? Yes, but where are we going? This is one of the first questions we ask ourselves when we prepare an outing. For some people the question does not arise, they have their habits and favorite spots to which they are faithful. Others are adventurers in search of travel and new fishy playgrounds!
The websites of the fishing federations provide information (sometimes interactive maps) on the places open to fishing in their department. But it happens that small treasures not referenced are hidden in the bend of an old dirt road, a small hedge that crosses a field, or in the middle of a forest!
That's where Google maps comes in, this interactive satellite map will allow us to do some prospecting from the comfort of our sofa. The application is a first choice tool for the fisherman, in fresh water as in the sea. Google maps will help us to locate and choose potentially interesting areas for our future trips.

The "map" function allows us to locate the water in wide view, then zoom in with the satellite mode to discover more details. Finally, we can finish our cyber prospection with the street view mode which offers us a really practical subjective view to discover the places as if we were there!
Anticipate and save time
Discovering new routes is not always a pleasure, sometimes unexpected and disappointing! The unknown can hold good surprises, but leaving your comfort zone is not always easy. Before going out prospecting, it is wise to anticipate and collect some additional information on Google maps. First of all, it allows us to find a place to park and an access to the banks.

With the satellite view, we can also have a small overview of the topography of the station, to locate shallow areas and pools. A quick look at Google maps can save us from making the trip for nothing and that the fishing trip turns into a nightmare! When prospecting, it is wise to always have a backup plan, because even with a good location on Google maps, the reality on the spot is not always consistent with our expectations.
