Free events open to all
As every year, the Fête de la Pêche offers free or very accessible activities all over the region: introduction to lure, jig and fly fishing, line tying, demonstrations, children's workshops, sometimes float-tube fishing, fishing simulators or trout releases, depending on the location.
In some areas, this is also a special day, as fishing can be supervised without a fishing licence for participants, provided they are accompanied by a licence-holding angler.
Schedules and programs vary from department to department; for example, in the Loire, the event is announced for June 7, 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert, with activities and demonstrations for young and old.
The Fête de la Pêche (Fishing Festival) on Sunday June 7, 2026 is really presented as a "porteâeurosouverte" on the preservation of aquatic environments, with a strong emphasis on discovery and awareness-raising.

Ecological awareness
Educational workshops are organized to show how recreational fishing contributes to monitoring rivers, water quality and biodiversity.
Exhibits and panels explain freshwater fish species, habitats (sea grass beds, breeding grounds, spawning grounds) and sustainable management rules (size limits, quotas, regulations).
Messages for children and families
The children discover that fishing also means observing, protecting and respecting the environment: the guides emphasize release, fish sorting and waste management.
Our activities combine hands-on practice (introductions, line assembly) with the discovery of the "little creatures of the water" (invertebrates, larvae, algae), providing a simple understanding of how everything is linked in the aquatic ecosystem.
In terms of atmosphere, the day remains festive, with concerts, refreshments, entertainment and fishing stalls, but the common thread is clear: fishing is not just a leisure activity, it's also a tool for preserving aquatic environments.
In practice, it's a good time to discover techniques, meet volunteers and find local corners or associations, as the event also serves to promote the protection of aquatic environments and the role of AAPPMAs.
