The Elorn, a river of the Armorican Massif!
The Ãlorn is the second largest coastal river in Finistère after the Aulne. It rises in the Parc Naturel Régional d'Armorique and drains a watershed of 285âeuros¯km² with an average flow of 5.9âeuros¯m³/s.
All along the Ãlorn, the oceanic climate is contrasted, cooler and wetter in the Monts d'Arrée than near the estuary. The Ãlorn receives sixteen tributaries over almost 200âeuros¯km, offering excellent spawning grounds for trout and salmon.
His AAPPMA is not a member of the Entente Halieutique du Grand Ouest (EHGO). To fish on the Élorn or Lac du Drennec, you need an AAPPMA de l'Élorn card. The EHGO stamp does not give access to the AAPPMA de l'Élorn fishing lot.
Good conditions for opening
The weather plays a decisive role in the success of an opening. At this time of year, the fish are not yet very active, and it is often necessary to count on favorable conditions, such as the right temperature and water level.
Fortunately, the latest rains were limited and only a few days ago, so the situation is looking rather good. With little wind and temperatures between 10 and 12 degrees, conditions look good.
Arriving at the river's edge, this is confirmed. The water level is good, but a little tinted. On paper, everything looks good for a good opening.

The first trout of the season
This is always a special moment. The first trout of the year has a unique, almost symbolic flavor. Even when it's not the most beautiful fish of the day, it truly marks the beginning of the season.
As the hours passed at the water's edge, a dozen or so trout then came to reward the efforts, with a few fish a little prettier than the others.
On this type of river, the trout are often modest in size compared to those found elsewhere. But this in no way detracts from the pleasure of fishing, quite the contrary.
