40,000 volunteers work for recreational fishing

To mark World Volunteer Day on December 5, the Fédération Nationale de la Pêche en France (FNPF) has officially signed a national agreement with France Bénévolat. The aim of this collaboration is to support and promote the work of the 40,000 volunteers who give life to the world of recreational fishing every day, both in France and overseas.

With 1.5 million members, freshwater recreational fishing is one of France's largest networks of associations dedicated to nature and the environment. Its passionate, committed volunteers pass on their knowledge, organize introductory courses, maintain aquatic environments and play an active role in preserving biodiversity.

General interest missions

Recognized as "associations agréées pour la protection de l'environnement", the 3,500 recreational fishing organizations contribute to sustainable water management and the restoration of aquatic ecosystems. Their commitment is based on essential public-interest missions: species monitoring, river maintenance, awareness-raising campaigns and clean-up operations.

Recognition for volunteer work

By joining the France Bénévolat network, the FNPF and its network of associations will benefit from tools and services to recruit, welcome, support and retain their volunteers. This partnership will also reinforce the recognition of volunteer work in the day-to-day actions carried out to protect nature and promote recreational fishing.
