A Poetic and Socially Conscious Story
Flipéo, a fearless fish, explores the Pacific Ocean with his friends Harold and Joséphine. During this adventure, he has a surprising encounter that transforms his journey. The story is poetic and thought-provoking, centered on three main themes: nature, the environment, and friendship.
An environmental message
The book aims to raise awareness among readers of all ages about the fragile beauty of the oceans and the dangers of plastic. Hervé Hernu had already produced a video raising awareness on this topic in 2019, before the idea of a children?s picture book emerged as a way to convey this message in a gentler, more poetic way.

Avoiding Eco-Anxiety
The main goal was to raise children?s awareness without causing them eco-anxiety. Rather than showing shocking images of pollution or marine destruction (which could be traumatic), the cheerful and bright style transforms the message into one of hope for future generations. The poetic approach makes the subject emotionally accessible.
