A guide for river professionals and practitioners

The "Guide de Terrain - Régénération low-tech fondée sur les processus" is a French-language adaptation of the Riverscapes Consortium's LT-PBR Pocket Guide (Low-Tech Process Based Restoration). It is designed to accompany river professionals and practitioners who wish to integrate these principles into their river restoration practice.

Restoring healthy, self-sufficient rivers

The approach advocated by this guide aims to reactivate the natural functions of aquatic environments, rather than imposing a fixed form on them. Strategies, practical advice and intervention criteria are proposed to help restore healthy, self-sufficient rivers.

The guide is structured around three themes: an overview of river environments, the main stages of a restoration project based on processes, and a detailed description of low-tech natural structures (mainly "wood structures" and "beaver-type structures") that mimic the accumulation of dead wood and beaver activity, two key processes for regeneration.âeuros

It also includes a glossary, a selection of resources for further reading, and an adaptation to the vocabulary and realities of the French-speaking European context. The A6 format facilitates use in the field, and copies printed on indecipherable paper are available in Grenoble and Clermont-Ferrand. The book is published under a Creative Commons license (CC BY 4.0), for an indicative price of 17 â¬.âeuros
