First Junior Fishing Tour, national finals on September 6

On Saturday, September 6, 2025 , the Eure-et-Loir will be the scene of a major event for young people and their passion for fishing: the national finals of the first Junior Fishing Tour (JFT) , organized on the Basse Plaine de Douy site in Cloyes-les-Trois-Rivières , near Châteaudun.

An event 100% dedicated to young anglers

Created in partnership with the Fédération Nationale de la Pêche en France (FNPF) , the Fédération Française des Pêches Sportives (FFPS) and the Groupement de l'Industrie Française d'Articles de Pêche (GIFAP) , the Junior Fishing Tour aims to encourage young fishing enthusiasts to meet up, enjoy each other's company and compete.

The initiative reflects the spectacular growth in fishing among the under-18s: they now account for around a quarter of the 1.5 million members in France, with steady growth since 2019.

For this first season (2024-2025), almost 1,500 youngsters took part in the departmental and then regional rounds leading up to the national finals.

The final: 96 competitors

On September 6, 96 finalists from all over France will compete for the title of Champion(ne) de France in :

Two disciplines:

Two age categories:

  • Juniors (under 14)
  • Espoirs (14-17 years)

More than a competition: a great fishing festival

The event is free and open to all. The aim is to promote fishing and make it accessible to all generations, whether you're curious, an enthusiast or just a visitor.

On the program:

  • Initiations and discovery workshops
  • Target casting and fishing simulators
  • Equipment demonstrations and conferences
  • Renowned anglers - including members of France's world champion street fishing team - on hand to chat with the public
  • Lots of prizes to be won

The Junior Fishing Tour marks a new stage in the development of recreational fishing among young people. The final on September 6, 2025 will be a time for sport, sharing and promoting responsible fishing.
