Kayak, float tube or paddle
While we can obviously think of the simple wooden or plastic boat, when we talk about small craft designed for fishing we're referring more to the kayak (with pedals), the float tube and the paddle. These are more maneuverable and adaptable for fishing, and their design contrasts with that of a boat, which is similar in all but size.

An affordable price
Obviously, the first advantage of small boats is the price. While the investment may increase with the number of options, it's obviously a far cry from that required for a boat.
Easy to transport
Float tubes in particular, but also paddles, which are often inflatable, are very easy to transport and quick to put into action. Kayaks may take up a little more space, but they can be transported on a car roof rack or a simple trailer.
The good thing is that this type of boat, even on a trailer, doesn't require a large towing vehicle.

Authorized in a large number of water bodies
On the vast majority of the country's rivers and lakes, these small craft are authorized. This is not always the case for boats, which require a launching ramp and, in some cases, a permit.
All the more so as, on the smallest stretches of water, combustion engines are often prohibited, which again limits the use of a boat.
A wide range of options
Kayaks, paddles and float tubes designed specifically for fishing have been conceived by anglers to meet our needs as fishermen. Each model comes with a wide range of options and fittings, enabling you to load equipment, enhance comfort, install an electric motor, depth sounder, etc... All while leaving you maximum freedom to fish efficiently.

Discreet
Small boats ensure great discretion on the water and are an undeniable asset when it comes to prospecting shallow areas or even very small environments. If you take a look at the social networks, you'll see many kayak or float tube anglers sight-fishing for catfish under the rod, or even sanding down edges just a handful of metres away. All without arousing the fish's suspicion, and with the utmost efficiency and mobility.

Suitable for most environments
While larger bodies of water and rivers require an equipped boat to fish safely and efficiently, the small boats we have mentioned above are perfectly suited to the vast majority of fishing environments in France. Lakes of just a few hectares, small and medium-sized rivers, are all within their reach, and they often prove more suitable than a hard hull of just a few meters.
