The Cité de la Mer aquarium is one of the largest in Europe, with a capacity of 1.7 million liters of water. It houses a wide variety of fish and other marine creatures, offering a spectacular view of underwater life.

You can observe various species of shark, including grey and hammerheads, gracefully moving through the aquarium. Stingrays, with their fluid movements, are also present and fascinate visitors with their elegance. A variety of colorful tropical fish populate the aquariums, offering a glimpse of the biodiversity of coral reefs. Jellyfish aquariums allow you to observe these delicate, translucent creatures in a controlled environment. You'll also have the chance to observe seahorses. These fascinating little fish, also known as sea horses, are often present in aquariums specially designed for them.

Equipped with headphones and a tablet, visitors can explore La Cité de la Mer interactively. The pilot-fish application offers rich and varied content, adapted to different levels of interest and knowledge. This virtual companion guides visitors through the various spaces, offering detailed information and fascinating anecdotes about each section of the tour.

Two levels of access are available:

  • An "Adult" mode: designed for visitors seeking an in-depth, detailed experience of the exhibits.
  • A "Family" mode: ideal for family visits, this mode features fun quests and child-friendly activities, making the visit both educational and fun.

A touch tank allows visitors to touch certain marine species under the supervision of experts, offering a unique interactive experience.
