4 podcast episodes
LSD is a France Culture program that documents all experiences of life, culture and knowledge. Each week, the channel presents a major theme in four independent, complementary episodes, all of which can be podcast.
LSD sets out to meet the fish and aquatic mammals that inhabit the seas, oceans and rivers of our 70% water-covered planet, to discover their diversity and lifestyles. Accompanied by scientists (biologists, zoologists, paleontologists, ethologists) as well as passionate divers and naturalists, the four 58-minute episodes plunge us into the life experience of the aquatic beings of our blue planet. Species and environments so rich and yet so fragile today, yet vital to the balance of life on Earth and underwater.
Episode 1 Wonderful fish : immersion in protected marine areas. A veritable Garden of Eden for many species of fish.
Episode 2 From scales to genome : aquatic life is full of information for the scientists who study it. Humans and fish are not so far apart...
Episode 3 From streams to oceans, the great connection : trout, eels and salmon, discovering the biological cycles of river fish.
Episode 4 Fraternizing with cetaceans : dive among cetaceans, sperm whales and other species of cetaceans living in the Mediterranean.
A beautiful documentary series by Elise Gruau, directed by Agnès Cathou, which demonstrates the richness of the fishery and the importance of preserving it.
