Singeon, author of the script and drawings
Singeon is a Parisian comic book artist born in Martinique in the 80s. Seduced by "Lucky Luke" as a child, he became obsessed with "Dragon Ball" as a teenager. During his studies at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he published his first comics in the fanzines "Les Gençaves" and "Dopututto".
Singeon is a regular contributor to Topo and Revue Dessinée magazines, and has adapted Jennifer Bidet's thesis "Vacances au Bled: un récit sociologique" (Casterman, 2018) into a comic strip. Following a report in Madagascar, he joined a scientific expedition in search of the island's endangered freshwater fish. This incongruous journey gave rise to "Comme un poisson hors de l'eau", his first solo comic book (Dargaud, 2023).

In pursuit of Joba Mena
In November 2022, Singeon, a comic book writer and by definition a "homebody", embarks on a three-week scientific expedition to Madagascar, in search of a freshwater fish, the Joba Mena. In 2013, aquarists from London Zoo rediscovered this species, which had been thought extinct for a decade. For three weeks, on foot, by jeep or by plane, the author travels the roads of Madagascar, recounting with great humor his adventure as a "fish out of water". It's an opportunity for readers to discover the importance of river and freshwater fish, to be alerted to the different species on the brink of extinction and to highlight the scientific mobilization to preserve them.

A captivating story with beautiful illustrations that highlight our responsibility to preserve species and their environment.
