The tenya, well known to anglers who love Japanese trends, is the perfect rig for ridens. Its ability to present the bait in a natural way makes it a formidable weapon for attracting rays and turbot.

By adapting your technique to the current, you can catch these flatfish on spots where they gather to hunt.
Why tenya is ideal for ridens
Ridens are areas rich in sediment deposits where crustaceans and molluscs are concentrated. These conditions attract rays and turbot in search of food. The tenya allows the bait to be presented in a natural way, making it irresistible to these flatfish.

Thanks to its integrated sinker, the tenya remains stable on the bottom while keeping the bait close to the substrate, where these predators are found.
Tenya mounting to target flatfish
The tenya is mounted with a shrimp or mackerel slice to attract the attention of turbot and rays. Use 0.40 mm fluorocarbon to avoid breakage caused by the line rubbing against the bottom and sediments (rocks, shells, gravel).

Let the bait drag on the sand to create a cloud of sediment, stimulating the hunting instinct of turbot and rays. Wait for the bites, and only strike after a sustained shot, not on the first bite!
Tips to improve your holds
To maximize the tenya's effectiveness, fish during periods of low tide or slack water, when currents are less strong.

If the current weakens, switch to a lighter mount or a sliding tenya for greater flexibility. You can also vary the set-up by using a sliding tenya.
