Fishing for pretty bass with an imitation sandeel
Late-season fishing is always full of surprises as the cold sets in and big fish seek to feed. This is a good time to try out Major Craft's new products, such as the Eely Shad. A particularly effective and versatile soft lure designed to imitate a sandeel. Sandeels remain a popular prey item for predators such as bass, wolffish and meagre.

The Eely Shad is available in several sizes: 7.5 cm, 9.5 cm, 13 cm, and 16 cm, with weights ranging from 4.1 grams to 39.2 grams. This makes it suitable for a variety of fishing situations. From the surface with the lightest weights to the deep with vertical jigging or fast retrieves...

I was also able to validate Major Craft's Stabi Shad. This is a soft lure designed for a variety of fishing conditions. It offers a realistic, stable action that attracts predators even when they're wary. This lure is distinguished by its paddle tail, which generates constant vibrations, and its lateral fins, which stabilize the lure. This reduces unnecessary movements and guarantees a smoother, more realistic swimming action.
This lure retains all its effectiveness at low speeds, making it ideal for slow prospecting or downstream fishing. Its subtle wobbling action, combined with a natural lateral flutter, is calibrated to imitate struggling prey to perfection. A trigger for marine predators like sea bass, but also in freshwater for pike, zander and perch.

The Stabi Shad Fat version has a wider body. It can therefore be used in rough waters when you need to attract attention.

Personally, I don't hesitate to use big lures at the end of the season, as they attract the biggest fish. I like the end of the season to go in search of sea bass, to take advantage of the colors and shades of sunshine in this magnificent area that is the Gulf of Morbihan.
