Mikel Epalza was born in 1946 in the Basque Country to parents who had fled the Spanish Civil War. He has dedicated his life to gathering the prayers and emotions of fishermen. A chaplain to the sea, Mikel is both a priest and a sailor, and has himself experienced the elusive bond that unites people with the elements.
Coline Renault is a journalist with a passion for the maritime world.

"The young sailors taught me a lot. They were by my side throughout a human adventure that was also spiritual, so much so that they changed my way of looking at things. They helped to give me faith, to refresh my soul. But above all, they converted me to something that had previously been totally foreign to me: ecology. Today it seems so obvious, but it was a different time. It was 1992 and nobody was talking about these issues. Nicolas Hulot was neither known nor disgraced. Nobody suspected how polluted the sea was. It remained gray, it remained green. And I never thought about the carpet of garbage that lurked underneath...".
