Hard lure with mass transfer, what is it and is it effective?

Mass transfer saves 20% in distance!

Discover how mass transfer improves the performance of hard lures. Using an internal moving weight, this system optimizes casting accuracy and distance. Learn how this technology, adopted by brands such as Yo-Zuri and Maria, saves up to 20% in distance.

Mass transfer

A hard lure with mass transfer means it has an internal weight that moves lengthwise.
This weight may be in the form of a ball or a cylinder, and moves in a tube, rather like a piston.
Ima intègre depuis longtemps ce procédé.
Ima has been integrating this process for a long time.
The system itself seems simple, but the complexity lies in balancing it perfectly so as not to interfere with the lure's swimming action.
During the casting phase, the weight is placed on the rear part of the lure to facilitate casting, improve precision and, above all, reach greater distances! With the weight concentrated in the forward casting area, the rest of the lure is less sensitive to wind and air friction, so it remains stable without spinning.
The gain in distance is not insignificant, and this technology is no gimmick. On average, it allows you to cover 20% more distance, and what's more, the lure is much more precise! A traditional lure that launches at 40 meters could reach 48 meters with this system.
Once the lure reaches the water and its horizontal position, the weight tilts towards its head, to ensure proper balance. A magnet at the front of the lure holds the weight in position, ensuring that the lure is always balanced and doesn't make any unwanted noise, except when casting.
Even if the system takes up space, some lures can still feature noisy beads and/or a through-armature.

What lures?

As a general rule, this process is reserved for medium and large hard lures, more for sea fishing access, with elongated shapes, such as minnow jerkbaits, stickbaits or poppers.
Le Maria Duck Dive F192 intègre un transfert de masse très efficace.
The Maria Duck Dive F190 features highly efficient mass transfer.
Several brands incorporate and master this process, which in my view is a major argument in choosing a lure. These include Yo-Zuri, Tackle House, Zipbait, Maria and Ima.
