Video of sea fishing with metal jigs, discover Drag Metal Cast

Ultimate Fishing recently posted an interesting video on its You Tube channel devoted to sea fishing with metal jigs, and more specifically to lures in the Drag Metal Cast family from the Japanese Duo brand.

Using Decoy's power roll snap

Before getting down to his fishing, Bruno Pebe, who presents this video, talks about the risks of braid twisting presented by the use of this type of lure, which tends to make the line spin and deteriorate its resistance. To deal with this problem, Bruno uses Decoy's power roll snap, a clip mounted on a rolling swivel which allows the lure to turn on itself without impacting the line.

Adapting to fish reactions

Bruno then decides to prepare two different rigs for his fishing session. He chooses a slow drag metal cast that will allow him to sink slowly and flutter in the water layer, and a drag metal cast that will sink faster. Bruno explains that fish can react differently to the speed and type of movement of the lure, and that depending on the species present, the depth, exposure to the current and the drift of the boat, one of the two models can sometimes be much more effective than the other.

Many tips and tricks

As the fishing session progresses and different species of fish are caught, Bruno also shares tips on how to choose lure colors according to fish feeding patterns and recommends the use of soft rods for this fishing technique. He explains that softer rods allow the use of finer wire diameters, for example, which has additional advantages for metal lure fishing.

Note that the Duo Drag Metal lures shown in this video in their "Cast" and "Cast Slow" versions also exist in a "Shot" version, a "Slim" version, a "Super Slim" version and a "Super Slim Blade" version. Making this probably the most complete family of metal lures available in our tackle stores.
