The House
The heart of the archipelago is an area protected from the swell, 1 to 8 meters deep, and made up of a succession of sandy spots, seaweed and rocks. This area, called the Chamber, is the Eldorado of Breton "finesse" fishermen! But be careful, you have to be vigilant when you navigate and be discreet both in the setting up and in the approach to succeed in your fishing. But what a pleasure to catch a bass on a 20/100 leader and a 3/15 grams power rod.

Clear, shallow water
The specificity of the Glénan House and which gives this archipelago this feeling of being elsewhere, are its crystal clear waters, shallow and dotted with islets of rocks, patches of seaweed and white sand beaches. In these conditions, fishing requires a certain discretion and mastery of finesse, but you can find a lot of forage fish and sea bass behind...
The edges, these strategic spots
We have already mentioned it many times, the edges of the substrates are key spots for the fishing of carnivores whatever the environment. Because they double the food supply and its variety, but also because they constitute excellent stalking posts for predators. You'll notice that many bites occur when you move from a light to a dark area or vice versa.

Powerfisher at first
In the House, the first strategy is to beat the ground and for that, a light wind brings a lot of comfort considering the very low speed of the current.
To do this, the priority approaches are surface lures, but especially hard lures that swim a little deeper and can be animated quickly. Thus, bet on jerkbaits, but also on vibrating blades or even on cranck or longbill minnows depending on the depth.
Very aggressive fly fishing with 4-inch pintails is also a great way to look for active bass.

To be scraped when sanding
Unfortunately, the activity is not always intense during the day, and in this case, it becomes very profitable to practice a meticulous scratch fishing close to the islands. The bass are often stuck to the edge and a small shad or a slow moving finess a few decimeters from the bank will often find a taker.
If there is a little wind, you can also let your soft lure fly slightly over the bottom at the back of the boat. The choice of the weight will then be essential!
The right combo
As you can see, the soft lures will often be leaded between 3 and 10 grams and overall small sizes. Thus, the best set to fish in the chamber of the archipelago is a rod of 7-21 grams of power, fast action, but with a soft tip. A PE0.8 braid and a 22/100 to 25/100 (or even less!) leader will perfectly complete the set.

The right lures
For the House, you don't need to carry several boxes of lures. Take a few hard lures of about 10 cm for 14 g and shads of 3 and 4 inches accompanied by pintails and finness of 4 or 5 inches. An assortment of leaded heads, Texan or not, from 3 to 10 g will allow you to adapt to all situations. A few 15 g models for shads with a 9-10 cm pull and your box will be complete. For the colors, ayu and blue are obviously the references, but it is especially important to bet on the transparency considering the clarity of the water.
