After five days of exhibition in Clermont-Ferrand, between the preparation, the presence on the stand and the return to Brittany, a stroll on the foreshore was necessary to eliminate the surplus of truffade.
Clams and prawns

This 105 coefficient was just the right time to go and oxygenate on the beach and get the legs moving. A low tide at 1 pm was ideal to not get up too early. As I was just going out to visit the pebbles on the foreshore, the preparation is minimal. My trusty steed, a pair of gloves, the tide ruler, a claw for clams and prawns and the safety equipmentâeuros¦
The launch is not far from the spots and around 10:30 am, I am on the water. I took my stepper, in 20 minutes I am on the foreshore. It's a weekday, there are not many people on the water, I will still meet three brave people who had the same idea as me, there is room for everyone.

Once I arrived on my clamming spot, I looked for them during half an hour, this allowed me to start slowly while waiting for the other spots to be discovered. I quickly fill up with big clams, a good hundred, they will end up in the oven with a snail butter.
Direction the second spot to pick up some pretty prairies, they too are quite present, I will pick up two dozen. I eat them raw, with a shallot vinaigrette and buttered bread, just divineâeuros¦
Abalone search

After this foreshore scraping session, I went to my abalone spot, these first tides are usually excellent for this shellfish. There have not been any high coefficients for a while, so they have not been disturbed and it is cold. They tend to rise higher when it is cold and today it is the case.
I will make my quota of 20 in less than 3/4 of an hour, in all I will make 35. This will allow me to sort out and keep only the authorized quantity, and all of them, at more than 100 mm, the regulation size being 90 mm.
As a reminder, the quota is 20 per day and per person for a 90 mm mesh. Once the sorting is done, I put the released individuals directly under rocks that I spot in a corner of my memory. They will be visited in priority at the next tide next month.
Fishing and diversity

Once the quota of abalone was reached, I still had one hour before thinking about the return, I took the opportunity to walk on the foreshore in search of other bugs. I found a few scallops, a nice sleeper and a dozen of nice eels.
It's 1:30 pm, the tide is just starting to turn. It is time for me to take a souvenir picture of the seafood platter and to have a well deserved organic snack. I had taken a lemon, and some shellfish will be consumed immediately on the foreshore, what happiness with this kind of picnic on January 24th. There is now enough water on the pebbles and I take the road back, a little bit more loaded than on the way.

This year 2023, there are more than 30 days with high coefficients . The kayak will then come back to rub against the rocks of the tip of Brittany. It is really the ideal tool for this kind of fishing pleasure.
