Hello Julien, can you introduce yourself to the readers of Fishing.news ?
Julien Dubois - Hello, Dubois Julien, I'm 36 years old and I'm a Pro-Staff at Digital Squad Fishing for about a year. I fish mainly carnivorous fishes with lures (pike, pike-perch, perch, trout, catfish) in the department of the north (59).

Can you tell us about your early days in fishing?
Julien Dubois - I started fishing with my grandfather when I was a child and little by little, I moved towards lure fishing which allows me to move, discover and walk around... The feeling of the touch in lure fishing is incredible and clearly addictive.
When, how and why did you agree to be a Pro-Staff?
Julien Dubois - About a year ago, I was spotted by the brand Digital Squad Fishing. I was contacted via social networks and very quickly, I appreciated the atmosphere within the team. We advocate above all the pleasure and the sharing, that's what I liked right away and convinced me to join the team
Plus, it's pretty exciting to be a part of a burgeoning brand and try to help it grow.

What does being an ambassador mean to you?
Julien Dubois - Being an ambassador is important. It's not just about making a lot of big fish. It's also about setting an example. Our passion sometimes suffers from questionable people or practices. The idea is to promote our products, but always with respect for others, our fishing environment and the fish of course.
What is your best memory, or anecdote, as a Pro-Staff to share with our readers?
Julien Dubois - I have a lot of memories, but lately, I have one that comes back to me. The capture of a 62 cm long trout, which is quite rare in my region.
It is especially the fight and the multiple candles of this fish which do not leave me indifferent. All the more so as it was caught on a very fine material, a rod in 0/4 g, braid in 6/100 and a fluoro leader in 18/100.
How do you see the fishing industry in France?
Julien Dubois - To my eyes, we have multiple very diversified spots. Fishing, and especially lure fishing, is very popular. However, and even if the practices are changing, we do not protect our fellow players enough.
I do a lot of fishing trips and I realize that the nicest destinations practice no-kill. A lot of no-kill courses are being created in France, but the controls are too rare.

Any advice for anglers who want to join a Pro-Staff team one day?
Julien Dubois - Don't forget the fun part! Many people I know who work for brands tell me that they are not happy because fishing is becoming something very mechanical for them. You have to catch fish, take beautiful pictures, spend a lot of time on the networks...
Personally, I am lucky to have joined a team in which fun is the most important thing.
