During the Grand Pavois show in La Rochelle, a competition is held every year for brands and their pro-staffs. Great fishermen, with beautiful equipment, ready to hunt down sea bass and speckled bass.

A last minute change

Departure to the fallback area

This new edition was awaited by all the competitors deprived of this moment of sharing and conviviality several years in a row because of the Covid and the weather conditions. The 2022 edition, which was initially scheduled to take place on Saturday 1 er the first day of the competition on October 1 and Sunday October 2 had to be brought forward to Friday, September 30, because a front was forecast for Saturday. After consultation, the 29 registered crews accepted the proposal of the organizers to advance the first day of competition by one day.

A difficult first round

It is thus on the fallback zone, an area better protected from the swell, that the start of the competition is given under the sun. The fishing area is complex and the competitors will quickly realize that they will have to fish close to the coast, in little water, to hope to succeed.

A validated fish

A first round during which many fishes were caught, but unfortunately very few meshed fishes (42 cm to count a common or speckled bass). Only 19 fishes were validated for all the 29 crews. It is the team Mercury Pro Team who comes out on top with 133 points followed by the team Susuki Fishing Team which accounts for 109 points while the third place goes to the team Yamaha-Navicom with 99 points . A difficult first race during which many boats could not count any fish.

Rankings changed in the second round

The teams meet again on Sunday morning to fight on the same area, because if the sun is shining, the sea is still a bit rough. The days follow one another and the fish continue to be very difficult. It is a little better than during the first round, there will be 23 validated fish, but always a significant number of small fish to the great despair of the competitors.

Finally only the team 29 Yamaha-Navicom will manage to remain constant throughout the two rounds. It is therefore quite logical that she wins this 2022 edition with 235 points or 235 centimeters of validated fish. The second place of the podium will be taken by the 07 team Navicom-Yamaha who will take second place with 234 points that is to say only one centimeter less of bars taken over the two heats! The third place will go to the 22 Nautique-Services team with 230 points .
